What to do in Britain

Longleat stately home

One thing my parents loved to do with us children when we were young was to go and visit a stately home now and again. These very large country houses were (or still are) occupied by aristocratic families.

A lot of them are open to the public. Perhaps the most difficult decision to make is to decide where to start.

What about visiting Longleat (that’s the stately home on the photo)? I read that it’s probably one of the most beautiful stately homes open to the public – and one I’ve never been to!

Have you ever visted a stately home before?
