Watch your body language

If you’d like people to see you as being more trustworthy, you need to watch your body language. So what can you do? According to, you should:

  • maintain eye contact
  • uncross your arms and legs
  • sit in front of your desk rather than behind it
  • touch a person lightly on their elbow or shoulder (I actually like doing this, but it’s not acceptable everywhere, so one needs to be very careful!)
  • smile and nod
  • keep the palms of your hands open
  • sit at the same level

Your body language

Ladies, watch your body language. According to Amy Cuddy, professor at Harvard Business School and author of Presence, women are taught at an early age to use body language that makes them feel powerless. Her talk is not easy to understand, but her message is quite clear.
