Did you know that the first word after the greeting in an email or letter always starts with a capital letter in English? Yes, it’s quite different to what we do here in Germany, isn’t it?

Something like this …

“Dear Sam

Thank you so much for writing to me … “

Messages written in CAPITALS are more difficult to read and make the reader think you are SHOUTING at them. If you want to emphasize (betonen) a word or phrase, underline it, try italics or use bold.
