Confidence Is NOT Built by Feeling Ready. Here’s What Works Instead
Last year, I took up square dancing.
Fun? Yes.
Easy? No.
To dance at the “Mainstream” level, you need to learn 69 different calls.
Sixty-nine!
Each one with its own pattern, timing and direction.
At the start, I was completely lost.
I turned the wrong way. Froze mid-dance. Laughed a lot (nervously).
But I kept showing up.
Week by week, step by step—I started to get it.
Now I can dance a full square without panicking.
And you know what?
That’s how confidence is built.
Not by waiting until you feel ready—but by preparing before the moment comes.
The same goes for speaking English.
Or running a business in your second language.
You get better by doing.
So—what are you preparing for right now?
In English, business or life?
I’d love to cheer you on.
