Scared to Speak Because You Might Get It Wrong?

There’s a name for that fear: lathophobic aphasia.

It sounds dramatic, but it’s simple:
👉 “I’m afraid to speak because I might mess up.”

And you’re not alone.

Even people with perfect grammar freeze when it’s time to say something out loud.
Not because they can’t — but because their brain says:
“Don’t mess it up. Don’t sound stupid.”

Let me say this clearly:
You’re not broken.
You’ve just been taught grammar – not courage.

In my coaching, we flip that.

We practise speaking in a space where mistakes are welcome.
Because that’s how confidence grows.
Not by being perfect – but by being brave.

Your English doesn’t need to be perfect to be powerful.
