I watched this YouTube video at least 30 times.

Two Scotsmen.
One voice-activated lift.
One word:

“Eleven.”

👉 The lift can’t understand them.

They repeat it.
Slower.
With different accents.

Still nothing.

There is some swearing involved.
Real frustration. Very human.

It makes me laugh every time.

But here’s what I love about it.

Even native speakers aren’t always understood.

Not because their English is wrong.
But because accents vary.

English is global.
There is no single “correct” sound.

So when you don’t understand an accent in a meeting?

That’s not proof your English is bad.

It’s proof that English has many voices.

💬 Quick Win:
Say: “Could you say that again a bit slower, please?”

Not: “Sorry, my English is terrible.”
