Let’s improve our productivity

As I wrote last week, we all want to improve our productivity.  But we don’t need things that are too complicated and difficult to implement, do we?

In this article entitled “10 one-minute time hacks that will make you more productive“, Chris Bailey recommends 10 time hacks that are fairly easy to manage:

  1. Say “no” to three things.
  2. Turn off all your email alerts (I’ve been meaning to do this for some time now!)
  3. Start keeping a list of everything you’re waiting for. (That’s a good one!)
  4. Live by the two-minute rule. (If something will take less than two minutes to do, do it.)
  5. Make a list of three things you want to have accomplished today.
  6. Start working on pomodoro time. (I’ve written about this wonderful technique in the past. If you missed the post, take a look at this page here.)
  7. Find an activity that gives you more energy and schedule doing it.
  8. Take more breaks.
  9. Download RescueTime to track how you spend time on your computer. (It’s a free utility for Mac, PC or Android.)
  10. Define the very next steps you need to take to do something you’re procrastinating on. (This is one of my favourites!)
