The German word ‘Sachbearbeiter’ is rather tricky to translate. I’d probably use the word ‘office worker’ or ‘the person responsible for …’. For example, ‘die Sachbearbeiterin für Anträge ist nicht da’, might be translated as ‘the person who deals with applications isn’t here at the moment’.
