You’ve probably heard about IQ and perhaps about EQ before. But have you ever heard about CQ? CQ stands for Cultural Intelligence. This can be defined as the “ability to cross divides and thrive in multiple cultures”, according to CommonPurpose.org. Why not try to analyse your own Cultural Intelligence using the Eight Poles assessment form and start some interesting conversations? I’m starting tomorrow!

British and American English have far more similarities than differences. But it’s still good to know how the languages differ.

If you find it difficult to make small talk, just follow this three-step formula (link to: time.com).
- Reveal something small about yourself.
- Ask an open-ended question (that means a question that doesn’t just call for a “yes” or a “no” answer).
- Talk about what’s going on in the world.
You’ll make a confident and intelligent impression.
