I like reading up about etiquette in Britain now and again. You never know when you might need these rules. Here’s something I found on etiquette expert William Hanson’s blog.
When you’ve finished the main course (Hauptgericht), place your knife and fork together; the knife on the right and the fork on the left, in a half past six position on your plate. The tines of the fork (Gabelzinken) should be facing upwards.

We need to be careful that the language we use doesn’t offend others. Instead of saying someone is a “housewife” or “househusband”, you can say that someone is a “homemaker”. I like the word!
