25 Years of Teaching Business English – and Still Learning

A quarter of a century ago, I stepped into my first Business English training session with a textbook in hand, ready to guide professionals through grammar exercises.

It didn’t take long to realise that my clients had had quite enough of “school” English. What they really wanted was to speak—not just study.

Fast forward to today, and the biggest shift for me has been moving from in-person company training to online sessions (even before Covid gave us all a push in that direction). No more rushing through traffic to offices, but plenty of “You’re on mute” moments instead!

What hasn’t changed? Business professionals still want to feel confident using English in real conversations—not just in textbooks. And I still love helping them get there.

Looking back, it’s been quite a journey, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Here’s to the next chapter.

Thank you so much for joining me on this journey. Here’s to more learning, more conversations and more growth—together.
