A simple trick to stop your mind from racing before you speak

You know that moment before you speak English — when your heart races, your mind spins and your tongue feels heavy?
That’s not a language problem. It’s your nervous system doing its job.

Here’s a 10-second trick I share with my clients:

  1. Exhale first. A slow breath out tells your brain you’re safe.
  2. Drop your shoulders. Most of us tense up without realising.
  3. Think of your first word, not the whole sentence.

You’ll sound calmer and more natural. Not because your English improved, but because your brain relaxed.

Remember: Calm body → calm English.
