A simple trick to stop your mind from racing before you speak
You know that moment before you speak English — when your heart races, your mind spins and your tongue feels heavy?
That’s not a language problem. It’s your nervous system doing its job.
Here’s a 10-second trick I share with my clients:
- Exhale first. A slow breath out tells your brain you’re safe.
- Drop your shoulders. Most of us tense up without realising.
- Think of your first word, not the whole sentence.
You’ll sound calmer and more natural. Not because your English improved, but because your brain relaxed.
✅ Remember: Calm body → calm English.
