Are you forgetful?

Are you forgetful?

MemoryWe say that an elephant never forgets. And what about you? If you’re forgetful, you might need some lovely little tips and strategies (link to: www.bbc.co.uk) to boost your memory. Bizarre imagery and chunking work well for me. Do you have a favourite strategy?
Do you know this traditional English mnemonic rhyme? I use it to remember the lengths of the months.
“Thirty days have September,
April, June, and November.
All the rest have 31,
Except for February all alone,
It has 28 each year,
but 29 each leap year.”

EmaiRead how German vehicle-maker Daimler (link to: www.bbc.com) manages email when people are away on holiday. If you email a Daimler employee, you might be surprised to get the following message:

“I am on vacation. I cannot read your email. Your email is being deleted. Please contact Hans or Monika if it’s really important, or resend the email after I’m back in the office. Danke Schoen.”

I love this approach and think that more companies might adopt it one day. Do you?

In the showerDo you often have good ideas when you’re in the bathroom? I do. That’s why I have a pen and some paper there. But what about when one is in the shower? Help is now at hand. There’s a waterproof notepad on the market called AquaNotes. A must-have for people who get their best ideas when showering!
