Numbers

“Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted.”
Albert Einstein

German-born Albert Einstein received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921. Why not read this short article about his life which I found on the nobelprize.org website the other day?

Are our manners changing?

Is saying ‘thank you’ really dying out? In this BBC interview etiquette expert William Hanson talks about the importance of saying ‘thank you’ instead of using words like ‘ta’, ‘great’ or ‘cheers’.

I’m also a lover of saying ‘thank you’ instead of ‘ta’ or ‘cheers’, although I must confess that I do use ‘great’ now and again. And what about you?

So you want to explain that you’ve forgotten your ‘Kulturbeutel’ but you don’t know what it’s called in English? Well, we call it a ‘toiletry bag’ or ‘toilet bag’. If you can’t remember the name, at least you should be able to explain all the things that you can normally find in yours.

Deutsche Welle explains the German word ‘Kulturbeutel‘ very nicely in English. Yes, you mostly probably would expect opera glasses in a ‘Kulturbeutel’, wouldn’t you?

Presentation slides

What do you think about Microsoft’s holiday e-card for Brazilian clients (created by SOAP presentations)? Don’t you think it’s creative?

That reminds me. I wanted to ask you whether you use vivid images in your presentations, too. It makes such a difference, doesn’t it?
