“People forget how fast you did a job, but they remember how well you did it.”
Howard W. Newton
This quotation reminds me just how important it is to do a good job. And creating a quality product takes time.
And look what I found on this site here today:
“You can have two out of the three: fast, good and cheap. Take your pick.
• You can have good and fast, but it won’t be cheap.
• You can have good and cheap, but it won’t be fast.
• You can have fast and cheap, but it won’t be good.”
Nice, isn’t it?

I work with several clients who travel to Shanghai to do business and, of course, have heard quite a lot about the city. If you’re interested in getting to know the city a little better, watch the BBC video here or read this Shanghai Travel Guide.

The photographer for a national magazine was assigned to get photos of a great forest fire. Smoke at the scene was too thick to get any good shots, so he frantically called his home office to hire a plane. “It will be waiting for you at the airport!” he was assured by his editor.
As soon as he got to the small, rural airport, sure enough, a plane was warming up near the runway. He jumped in with his equipment and yelled, “Let’s go! Let’s go!” The pilot swung the plane into the wind and soon they were in the air.
“Fly over the north side of the fire,” said the photographer, “and make three or four low level passes.” “Why?” asked the pilot. “Because I’m going to take pictures! I’m a photographer, and photographers take pictures!” said the photographer with great exasperation.
After a long pause the pilot said, “You mean you’re not the instructor?”

‘Kwik Learning’ has some simple yet effective tips on how to reduce stress and simplify our lives. What do you think about the ‘simplify your wardrobe’ tip or ‘one enters two go’?
I do like the ‘hide from the world for a while’ tip and actually do it now and again. The last time I hid for a day was on my birthday! 😉

In English we normally add an ‘s’ to a noun to make it plural. For example, you might have more than one television at home. Perhaps you have two or more televisions.
However, we normally use the word ‘vocabulary’ in the singular (and not ‘vocabularies’) when we mean ‘words’ and ‘phrases’.
For example: Reading newspapers and magazines can help you to pick up a lot of vocabulary.

If you procrastinate, it means that you postpone doing what you should be doing. You might do this because a task is particularly boring or annoying. Try using Rebekah Fensome’s ‘five-minute rule‘ next time you find it difficult to get started. I know it’s not easy, but you might even be able to change your behaviour!
