Concepts of time differ across cultures. Southern Europeans, for example, organise their time (and lives) in an entirely different way to Americans, Germans and the Swiss. They’re not particularly interested in timetables and punctuality.

How can we translate the German word “Spassvogel” into English?
Well, the Deutsche Welle uses the word “jokester”.
However, I’d translate the sentence, “Du bist ein Spaßvogel”, quite simply with, “You’re joking”.
