Saluting

Did you know that one should only salute in Britain when wearing a uniform?

Etiquette expert William Hanson explains that there are two different types of salute – one with the palm of the hand facing forward and one with the palm facing down. Ladies who are accompanying someone in uniform should bow their heads.

Good and bad news

The lawyer said to the accused, “I have some good and some bad news for you”.

“So what’s the bad news?” he asked.

“The bad news is that your blood is all over the scene of the crime and the DNA tests prove that you did it”.

“And what’s the good news?”

“Your cholesterol is 130.”

Let’s do this together

This is quite amazing. Using the word “together” makes teams work harder and smarter, according to a Stanford study. People feel motivated because they feel like they are part of something bigger than themselves.

Try to use words like “let’s” and “we” if you want to build connection and the feeling of togetherness.
