A lot of people tell me that they were in the city over the weekend when they often mean the ‘town centre’. Of course, if they visited Cologne or Düsseldorf, then they probably would have also been in the ‘city centre’.
The difference between a town and a city? It’s not that clear, but in general villages are smaller than towns. And towns are smaller than cities. I always believed that cities had to have cathedrals, but that doesn’t seem to be true!
We’re never to old to learn new things, are we?
