The German Word That Always Tripped Me Up

For years, the German word ‘Eichhörnchen’ was my personal enemy. It should come with a health warning: may cause tongue injuries if pronounced too quickly.

And don’t get me started on Schnürsenkel, Schnäppchen and Schnäpschen.

Try saying those three in a row without sounding tipsy.

English has its tricky ones, too.
