Why “It was fine” kills conversations

“How was your holiday?”
“It was fine.”

Correct English. Dead conversation.

Real connection starts with one real detail.
Not a story. Not humour. Just something true.

For example:
“It was noisy, but fun.”
“We travelled too much.”
“I needed a holiday after the holiday.”

That’s enough.

Safe answers don’t sound professional.
They sound distant.

Quick win
Prepare one honest line. Use it instead of fine.
