The Times, the Guardian and the BBC disapprove of the abbreviation “Xmas” (meaning “Christmas”). But is it really that bad? Something I learned today: the ‘X’ is thought to represent the Greek letter ‘Chi’, which is the first letter of the Greek word for Christ, Christos.
Whatever … I wouldn’t use the abbreviation in a business context!
Oh, before I forget: Have a Happy Xmas everybody! :))
