You Think Dictionaries Decide Every Word?

People often think English is fixed. Like a finished book.
But language is alive. It changes, grows and makes new friends.

Here’s what I’ve learnt:

  • Dictionaries are not holy books. They are just products.
  • New words help us say things we could not say before.
  • Calling something “slang” can make it sound less important. But it is often very smart.
  • Life and technology change fast. We need new words to keep up.

Think about words like selfie, robot or brunch.
They did not exist before someone invented them. Now they are everywhere.

I see this every day:
Old words don’t always fit new ideas.
Some ideas stay in our heads because we have no word for them.

We often think only “language experts” can make new words. That is not true.
You can make them. I can make them. Anyone can.

So… make new words. Use them. Share them.
See which ones other people like.
Language is not just how we talk.
It is how we create the world we live in.
