Many non-native speakers try to master every tense in English. But in real business conversations, only a few really matter.

I tell my clients to focus on these key ones:

  • Present Simple vs. Present Continuous routine vs. now
  • Past Simple vs. Present Perfect finished vs. connected to now
  • Future Simple vs. Going to vs. Present Continuous decisions vs. plans vs. fixed arrangements

Once you understand these, you’ll stop overthinking, feel more confident and start speaking more naturally.
