Have a holiday – and Christmas greetings!
A ‘gesetzlicher Feiertag’ in British English is a ‘bank holiday’. The next one is on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. And then again on New Year’s Day. If a bank holiday falls on a weekend, a ‘substitute’ weekday becomes a bank holiday. That’s normally on the following Monday. Now isn’t that nice? 😉
By the way, the next bank holiday in Scotland is 2 December (St. Andrew’s Day).

One of my favourite tips is to imagine that you’re talking to the person when writing an email. If it’s an important email, I’ll even read it out loud. Okay, I can do that because I’m alone in my office!. But you can whisper it out loud if you like!
