The secret to job security

The secret to job security

Forklift

After having lost five different jobs in four months, Peter was hired by a warehouse. But one day he lost control of the forklift truck and drovie it off the loading dock.

Looking at the damage, the owner shook his head and said he’d have to deduct 10 percent of Peter’s wages to pay for the repairs.

“How much will it cost?” asked Peter “About $4,500,” said the owner.

“What a relief!” exclaimed Peter. “I’ve finally got job security!”

Staying fit

We all know that fresh air is good for us. And that exercising and having little breaks help our brains to function better.

‘Kwik Learning’ has some great tips on how to stay fit and alert during your working day. However I’m not sure whether companies like the idea of having their employees watch YouTube videos during the day. What do you think?

Do you think you could have done a better job? 😉

The Pomodoro Technique is an easy-to-use time management method developed in the late 1980s. All you need to get started is a kitchen timer.

Take a look at the video and see whether it could be something for you to try out. I started using this technique some months ago and was amazed at just how much I got done. I’d say that it works wonders for productivity.

You just have to get started. That’s probably the biggest hurdle!

Is it a man or a woman?

Man or woman?

What do you do if you don’t know whether the person you are writing to is a man or a woman? Let’s say you know the name is Drew Barrymore. Of course, you could try and google the name. But in many cases you might find it difficult to find out. My suggestion is that you address the person as follows:

‘Dear Drew Barrymore”.
