What Is the Safe Zone “Project”?

The Safe Zone Project is a free online resource for creating powerful, effective LGBTQ+ awareness and ally training workshops.

I found this document particularly interesting—and I thought you might, too.

You’ll find:

1. lots of core terms explained—like bisexual, cisgender, genderqueer, transgender, pansexual and LGBTQ; GSM; DSG and so on,

and at the end of the document:

2. a list of LGBTQ-inclusive language dos and don’ts. One example: Rather than say “transgender and normal people”, say “transgender and cisgender people”.

Do you also find this useful?

  1. Dear Christine, in order to earn bad critizism, I‘m happy not to be on duty any more. I think people have to learn kind of a new language for correctness. Can you give me info how the British handle that theme.?
    Thank you and take care,
    Gabi

    • Dear Gabi,
This topic is quite new to me, too. Perhaps you’d like to take a look at The Safe Zone Project’s website here: https://thesafezoneproject.com. You can find a lot of information there.
      I hope that helps,
      Christine
