7 Phrases That Make You Sound Like a 1990s Textbook (Stop Using Them!)

Stop using these outdated phrases.

 “Enclosed herewith…”
Try: “I’ve enclosed/attached [document] for you.”

 “As per our conversation…”
Try: “Following up on our chat about [topic]…”

 “Please be advised…”
Try: “The meeting has been rescheduled.” (Just say it directly!)

 “I hereby confirm…”
Try: “I’m confirming [details].”

 “With reference to the above-mentioned…”
Try: “About [topic]…”

 “Should you have any questions…”
Try: “Questions? Just let me know!”

 “We kindly request…”
Try: “Can you [action] by [date]? Thank you!”

🌟 Bonus Tip:
Skip “Best regards” unless you’re writing a legal letter. Try:

✔ “Cheers,” (for friendly teams)
✔ “Thank you,” (works every time)
✔ “Talk soon,” (great for follow-ups)

Which phrase will you swap first?
