Accept (akzeptieren, annehmen) = to agree to receive or agree with something. “I accept your offer.”
Except (außer) = excluding, apart from. “Everyone came except Tom.”
💡 Think of it this way:
Accept = to take in. Except = to leave out.
Aisle (der Gang, z. B. im Flugzeug oder Supermarkt) = a passage between rows of seats or shelves. “I always book an aisle seat.”
Isle (die Insel) = an island. “The Isle of Skye.”
💡 Think of it this way:
Aisle is where you walk. Isle is where you’d sail to.
Breath (der Atem, Nomen) = the air you take in. “Take a deep breath.”
Breathe (atmen, Verb) = the action of taking air in and out. “Remember to breathe.”
💡 Think of it this way:
Breath is short and it’s the noun. Breathe is long and it’s the verb.
Loose (locker, lose) = not tight, not attached. “These trousers are too loose.”
Lose (verlieren) = to no longer have something, or not win. “Don’t lose your keys again.”
💡 Think of it this way:
Loose has two O’s, like it’s got extra room. Lose has one O – something’s missing.
Remind (erinnern an/jemanden erinnern) = when someone or somethinghelps you remember.
“Can you remind me to buy milk?” (Kannst du mich daran erinnern, Milch zu kaufen?)
Remember (sich erinnern) = when you recall something yourself.
“I remember my very first English lesson.” (Ich erinnere mich an meinen ersten Englischunterricht.)
💡 Think of it this way:
Remind = needs two people or things
Remember = only needs one
Sympathisch (sympathisch) = likeable, pleasant to be around. “Mein neuer Kollege ist total sympathisch.”
Sympathetic(verständnisvoll, mitfühlend) = understanding, compassionate. “My manager was very sympathetic when I explained my situation.“

Sympathisch = you like being around them.
Sympathetic = they understand how you feel.
