There’s nothing wrong with saying „I don’t understand.“
But sometimes a more specific question gets you a more useful answer.
„I don’t understand.“
Honest and direct, but doesn’t tell the speaker what needs explaining.
„Could you explain that last point again?“
Shows exactly where you need help.
„When you say ’next quarter‘, do you mean January to March?“
Checks a specific detail.
